I recently started collecting patches that are related to aviation in one way or another, and so far i am pretty happy with my little collection.

Soviet MiG-29 Fulcrum.

German post-reunification MiG-29 Fulcrum.

USA A-6 Intruder.

Soviet Su-25 Frogfoot.

Swedish 2nd Airbase Battalion. I got these from my grandpa after his latest visit to F21 Luleå.

USA 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron, the only US squadron operating Soviet MiG and Sukhoi aircraft. This is actually an officers patch.

USA Janet Airlines, known as the Alien shuttle.

These are the ones i have at the moment, but i do have a few in mind and on my eBay watch list. I wonder which one will be the next.

If you also collect patches like these, don't hesitate to share them. All are welcome to post their collections.

I have a single piece of such items:

I've got this when attended Lappenranta Airshow last summer. I thinks it's more decorative thing for collectors, but it looks pretty like the ones the Finnish pilots have:

Thanks. :)

Acutally, today i picked up some t-shirts to put them on aswell. Same store as where i bought the latest patches. One with an RAF roundel, one with a Russian star and one with camouflage pattern. I think that's the last time i buy anything aviation related there as that was pretty much all of it.

Wow, that is a nice one! Decorative or not, it does look good.

- Oscar, I would advice to put them on a kind of stronger fabrics, like the one used for jackets, jeans etc. T-shirt is too thin while patch is too thick, so a patch may easily tear off the T-shirt (normally with a piece of T-shirt remaining on reverse side of a patch :) ), especially during laundry. This is a hint from my wife - initially I planned to do the same as you wish with T-shirt. :)

Aha... My mom said i could put them on a bag, but i don't have one to put them on. Do you think it will make a difference if they are sewn in place?

Two new additions landed today, thanks to a friend at W900.

Awesome! I love the F-14, so these were more than welcome to join my collection.

- no, I think there will be no difference whether a patch is glued or sewn. Putting it on a bag seems to be not bad idea. I think you have a bag (or a backpack) you use when going to school - why not to place it on that? At least you do not laundry backpack as often as a T-shirt. :)

Ah, well... I do have a backpack, but that one already has a lot of markings. And im not a huge fan of shoulder bags. Hm... I've got some thinking to do.

EDIT: I might be able to put them on my sweater. The fabric is a little thicker and it's not as stretchy as a t-shirt. And as it's all black it makes for a good background for most of them.

US Navy A-6 "Happy Intruders"

US Navy "Fighting 31"

USAF F-111F "Warsaw pact central heating"

USAF F15 "Dirty dozen Eagle driver"
