Aeroamerica (1973-1982) (IATA - EO, ICAO - AEO)
Organized in 1974 by Joel Eisenburg, Seattle-based Aeroamerica operated 11 Boeing 720s, plus a mix of 707 variants and even a DC-8 for a short period of time. The company was initially established as a charter operator and based a portion of its fleet in Berlin. However, scheduled service was begun in 1978 between Seattle/Tacoma and Spokane, followed by Seattle/Tacoma-Honolulu service. The 720s wore a variety of different liveries and occasionally assumed the titles of other companies for subcontract work. Succumbing to financial problems, Aeroamerica lost its operating certificate in June 1980. Some of its charters operated later under Jet Set's certificate, but the company shut down for good in 1982. Six of the remaining 720s were later broken up at Boeing Field, Seattle.
